Lead: firmware, PCB and integration
An end-to-end fleet telematics system built on a custom STM32F427 board. The device reads GPS position and MPU6050 motion data in real time, detects accidents and rollovers, and streams everything over a SIM800L GSM link to a web dashboard. A full power subsystem handles automatic switching between the vehicle battery and an onboard backup, with charging and protection circuitry, so the unit stays online even if main power is cut.

Embedded control
A robotic vehicle controlled over Wi-Fi, pairing an STM32 for real-time motor and sensor control with an ESP32 handling wireless communication. It supports both a manual remote-drive mode and an autonomous navigation mode, showcasing tight coupling between a wireless link and an embedded control loop.

Power electronics
A bidirectional buck/boost converter driven by STM32-generated PWM. I implemented the control firmware, then tested and tuned the converter across operating points, measuring regulation, ripple, and efficiency to validate the design under real load.

Embedded + cloud pipeline
An IoT data pipeline that takes readings from embedded sensor nodes and publishes them over MQTT to a cloud database, where they feed into monitoring applications. The project demonstrates the full telemetry loop: device acquisition, lightweight pub/sub transport, persistence, and live visualization.

Questions
What people ask before hiring an embedded systems & firmware engineer.
Which microcontrollers do you work with?
STM32 (including the STM32F427 on my fleet-tracker PCB), ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico and Arduino. I write in Embedded C and C++ with Keil uVision, IAR Embedded Workbench and PlatformIO, and in MicroPython where it is the right tool.
Can you design the PCB as well as write the firmware?
Yes. My final-year fleet tracker is a custom PCB integrating GPS, GSM, power management and sensor subsystems, with automatic main/backup battery switching, charging and protection circuitry, and the IAR firmware that runs it.
Do you take remote firmware work for international clients?
Open to remote and on-site roles worldwide, and freelance firmware projects of any size, from a hobby prototype to a production board. I am based in Pakistan and used to working async with international teams.
What communication interfaces and protocols have you implemented?
UART, SPI and I2C between modules; PWM and interrupt-driven timing; MQTT over TCP/IP and HTTP for the link to a server; and GSM (SIM800L) and Wi-Fi radios in shipped projects.
