Electrical Design Engineer | AutoCAD Electrical | PCB & Schematic Design

PEC-registered Electrical Engineer (CGPA 3.79/4.00) building a career in electrical and hardware design, with a hands-on foundation in PCB design, schematic capture, circuit design and simulation (Proteus), power electronics and working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical. I designed a custom multi-subsystem PCB (GPS, GSM, power management and sensors) for a real-time tracking system and built power-converter and control-system hardware. A fast learner eager to grow AutoCAD Electrical and design-drafting skills in a remote electrical design role.

Open to remote and on-site roles worldwide · Based in Pakistan · Available for freelance, contract and hobby-project work

In the stack

Where an electrical design engineer sits in a connected product.

The solid layers are the ones this role owns: hardware & pcb. The faded ones are the rest of the system I also build, so nothing is designed in isolation.

  • Custom four-layer PCB for the fleet tracker on a cutting mat, with GPS patch antenna, GSM module and screw terminals

    Lead: firmware, PCB and integration

An end-to-end fleet telematics system built on a custom STM32F427 board. The device reads GPS position and MPU6050 motion data in real time, detects accidents and rollovers, and streams everything over a SIM800L GSM link to a web dashboard. A full power subsystem handles automatic switching between the vehicle battery and an onboard backup, with charging and protection circuitry, so the unit stays online even if main power is cut.

    Power electronics

A bidirectional buck/boost converter driven by STM32-generated PWM. I implemented the control firmware, then tested and tuned the converter across operating points, measuring regulation, ripple, and efficiency to validate the design under real load.

    Control systems

An automated bottle-filling station governed by closed-loop feedback. Flow sensors meter each pour, a keypad and display provide the operator interface, and the control logic drives the pump to hit target volumes reliably: a compact demonstration of industrial process automation.

Questions

What people ask before hiring an electrical design engineer.

What PCBs have you designed?

A custom multi-subsystem PCB for a real-time fleet tracker: STM32F427 microcontroller, GPS, SIM800L GSM, MPU6050 IMU, battery monitoring, automatic main/backup power switching with charging and protection circuitry, and relay-based control. Also converter and control-system hardware for a buck/boost converter and an industrial filling system.

Which design tools do you use?

Schematic capture and PCB layout tools, Proteus for circuit simulation, and AutoCAD Electrical for wiring and control diagrams (working knowledge, actively growing). Component selection is done from datasheets with design-for-manufacturing basics in mind.

Are you looking for entry-level electrical design roles?

Yes, open to remote and on-site roles worldwide, with a particular interest in remote electrical design and drafting roles where I can deepen AutoCAD Electrical. I also take freelance PCB and schematic work.

Do you understand the firmware side of the boards you design?

Yes, unusually so for a design engineer: I write the firmware that runs on my own boards, so pin assignments, peripheral choices and power sequencing are made with the software in mind, not thrown over a wall.
